Semester Project

My art is business. For the semester project, I connected my passion for business entrepreneurship with art and women history. My project was extensive and unfortunately will be a long term process. I made a business plan to make a panel show on ABC based on local woman entrepreneurs/ woman artist within the community. The show will be called Local Women Buzz. The Instagram is called the same thing as a start to the project. The future panel will collaborate local artist, raise funding, and awareness to see who becomes the next big women CEO in the Fortune 100. I integrated woman artist and business woman on one platform to interview them on their daily routine.I met these young women at trade shows, built a relationship, and started snippets of the project. Most women were inspired to open a business based off passion and the struggle in being in a lower social class. I learned and researched a lot about these females before I met them. Some I also met at fashion shows and vending events. Everyday woman face challenges because men usually have leadership roles in the business world. The woman are constantly ignored within their own accomplishments and talents. It’s always the males own are the dominant figure who receives all the recognition. This can be seen in women art and history issues and in business issues.  Woman are struggling for legal rights and the lack of support to become the next iconic CEO, such as Donald Trump, Daymond John, and Steve Jobs. I plan on posting different woman work so they can collaborate to show off there work to attract investors.

What Exactly is my Project
My first step was creating an Instagram where young female artist and female entrepreneurs post upcoming projects to display their amazing crafts. This was a tool to create awareness and recognition to attract investors. Of course I'm an Everyday woman in the community enjoy perfecting their craft everyday despite the social issues within the community. People over see female art and history. Females are always seen as objects while the men get all the recognition. This project incorporated music videos, interviews, and pictures. It's a regularly updated Instagram page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style. Like women entrepreneur challenges in business with lack of funding, support team, resources women artist also had challenge in art and women history.  “Despite being engaged with the art world in every way imaginable, many women artists have been invisible in the traditional narrative of art history. They have faced challenges due to gender biases, from finding difficulty in training to selling their work and gaining recognition. Follow the course of this contentious history, from the challenges facing women up through the 20th century, to the campaigns of the feminist art movement, to the continuing work of contemporary women artists.” says Barbara cohen which was my biggest inspriration for the project.
