For my semester project, I'd made a painting base off my Caribbean heritage. Which I started on 2ND of April 2017 and finished on the18th of April, This painting is divided into three sections. The first section is the face of a powerhouse female character which her hair is made from rose petals and her skin tone is going to greenish blue and rose red; The style is painterly like brush strokes.
In the middle or second section of the painting I will use pictures of painting and sculptures made by three female Jamaican artists and two Cuban artists. This section of the painting is going to be a collage with seashells. The design is a hand back view; The hand is going to be the image of the painting and sculptures and the shirt sleeve is going to be made from shells but the nails are going to be painted.
The first artist is Belkis Ayon and Ms. Belkis Ayon is the first artist and her work will be located on the thumb, the second artist is Antonia Eiriz and, Ms. Antonia Eiriz art will be located on the index finger. The third artist is Jasmine Thomas-Girvan and Ms. Jasmine Thomas-Girvan art is going to be located on the middle finger. The fourth artist is Amy Laskin and her work is located on the ring finger and the fifth and final artist is Ebony Patterson and Ms. Ebony Patterson art is located on the little finger.

The third section of the painting I will be using the some female character from the first section of the painting. She is going to be painted in to post-impressionism styles, also it’s going to be multi-colored and the background is going to be in the blues to green blues spectrum of the color wheel. The purpose of this painting is to use Caribbean artist and their work to show how they use art to tackle Racism and Colorism. Because of colonization and slavery; led to the fact that countries like Jamaica are multi-culture and have some people that hate their skin tone and need to learn self-love. The world you live in has not changed enough since colonization and slavery. This piece is going to the powerful based on the color spectrum that I’m working with. To open up people’s minds to see that a person skin tone is not superior or inferior just tints and tones. I shared the process on my Facebook art @conseysart and Instagram @suella_artlove and @conseyart also, I got input and advice from professor Jordan Casteel.
