Throughout the class we have talked about any different types of art such as abstract work, 3d paintings, and multimedia art. Abstract art uses visual language of shape, for, color, and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual refences in the world.  There are different types of abstract work such as geometric abstract and lyrical abstract within both these types of art you are unable to find references of naturalistic entitles they are totally abstract.

1, Yoko Ono was born in Toko Japan and came to the United States when she as only two years old to live with her father. She was a singer, song writer, peace activist, and multimedia artist. She went to school at Sarah Lawrence College but left to elope with her first husband. She first started to gain reconnection for her work when she started working with John Cox a film producer and jazz musician who later become her second husband. Her art work would have the mostly have the audience patriate in it. Such as her most famous art work called the Cut Piece where she allowed he audience to come on stage and cut her clothes until she had nothing left but her under garments this art piece is a abstract commentary on discarding materialism. Recently she had an exhibition in New York Museum of Modern Art in 2015. This exhibition displayed over 100 different art work from 1960-1971. She influenced many artist to use art as a platform to protest with her Bed In- for peace art work and paved away for future artist to take more risks within their artwork.

2, Guerrilla Girls is an anonymous group of women who work together to fight against the injustice of women within the art world. The group first burst out on the scene in 1985 in New York City with the purpose of bringing gender and racial inequality issues into the light of the art community. They use books, posters, billboards, and public appearances to get their message out to the public. The women choose to use masks because they wanted people to hear their message and not focus on their image.
