                                                          Sarah Maple

Sarah Maple was born in 1986 to an Iranian Muslin mother and a Christian English father.  Sarah gained a B.A from Kingston in 2007. As soon as she graduated, she was awarded with the "4 New Sensations" award for budding artists. Sarah is best known for her paintings and photography. In her art pieces she addresses contradictory expectations that society has for women while relaying feminist messages. A lot of the work she does is in the image of herself. I admire that she doesn't take herself out of the equation. The biggest message that I take away from her is that the roles of women should and will be challenged. She even has a exhibition where the Disney Princesses have roles that society doesn't expect women to have : Judges, Football managers , Parliament, Business CEO's.

Women with corporate jobs or even in high positions have a hard time getting recognition for the work that they do . Women are expected to use their bodies as assets to personal career growth, while using their minds. Sarah combats that below. She crosses the line between sex and religion. I've never seen anyone dare to do so.
